ATA2021 Keynote Series: Experts Prioritize Policy and Infrastructure to Achieve Equitable, Value-Driven Healthcare and Patient-Centered Care
25th Annual American Telemedicine Association (Virtual) Conference and Expo
WASHINGTON, DC, APRIL 20, 2021 – The American Telemedicine Association (ATA) today announced the first two speakers in the ATA2021 Keynote Series, bringing unique perspectives and the latest thinking on health equity and policy for vulnerable populations, and the role of interoperability and telehealth in a robust health IT infrastructure. ATA2021 Annual Conference and Expo is taking place virtually each Tuesday and Thursday in June 2021 (11am-2pm EST). Now in its 25th year, ATA2021 is the world’s largest telehealth innovation event.
Micky Tripathi is the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he leads the formulation of the federal health IT strategy and coordinates federal health IT policies, standards, programs, and investments. He has over 20 years of experience across the health IT landscape. He most recently served as Chief Alliance Officer for Arcadia, a health care data and software company focused on population health management and value-based care. Among his many roles, he also served as the President and CEO of the Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative (MAeHC), a non-profit health IT advisory and clinical data analytics company. “The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT’s top goals include prioritizing interoperability, aligning with federal partners, centering health equity and continuing to work toward addressing the COVID-19 crisis,” says Micky.
Adaeze Enekwechi is a healthcare executive and leading voice in health policy. She served as the head of Health Programs at the White House Office of Management and Budget under President Obama, where she provided policy, management, and regulatory oversight for over $1.6 trillion in spending on Medicare, Medicaid, and a range of programs across all federal health agencies. Adaeze is committed to building a healthcare system that evolves beyond its current piecemeal, short-term approach to big solutions that meaningfully improve access to equitable, value-driven healthcare for all Americans. She most recently served as President of IMPAQ, a policy research and implementation company focused on health, workforce, and advanced analytics. “With the right evidence, the right policies, and the will, I believe a healthcare system that serves all people with dignity and equality is within our reach,” says Adaeze.

This year’s theme Telehealth: Enabling Flexible, Inclusive and Contemporary Care Delivery builds upon the lessons learned during the COVID-19 public health emergency, identifies the challenges and opportunities of today’s new realities, and convenes the individuals, organizations and decision-makers needed to cement the gains made to establish telehealth as a care modality in a modernized healthcare system.
