The Future of Virtual Telehealth

Research focused on informed predictions for virtual care in the coming decades.

Virtual visits, remote monitoring, virtual consults, care coordination and integration activities are moving ahead in part due to consumer demand for a more patient-centric health care system. Hospital footprints are shrinking due to shifts to outpatient care, changing demographics, and new interventions and technologies. As this trend continues, more diagnosis and care (as well as efforts to avoid treatment through prevention) will take place in the home. This research will focus on participants’ informed predictions for virtual care in the coming decades.

This ATA initiative will conduct focused interviews, surveys, and trend analysis to be compiled into a broader research report.
