Shannon McAllister is the Assistant Vice President of Population Health and Telemedicine for WVU Medicine. She is passionate about improving access to care and the patient experience through innovative methods while improving digital equity. She has focused on maximizing resources to reach more patients in rural West Virginia where services are limited or even non-existent. Under Shannon’s leadership WVU Medicine has grown their outpatient telemedicine services to 19 service lines, and 40 locations; as well as the addition of e-visits, e-consults, DTC video visits, and remote home monitoring to their offerings. Shannon continues to focus her telemedicine efforts to improving the health of West Virginians, associating her actions closely with the systems progress in Population Health and consistent with the overall mission of the organization. Shannon has been with WVU Medicine since 2013, serving in leadership roles within Finance and Operations. She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds an Executive MBA from West Virginia University, with a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration.
