Carlos Estrada,

Urologist-in-Chief, Boston Children's Hospital




Dr. Estrada attended the College of the Holy Cross, Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management. He completed urology residency at Rush University Medical Center and his pediatric urology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Estrada joined the faculty at Boston Children’s Hospital in 2006 and in 2021 was appointed Urologist-in-Chief and the Alan B. Retik Associate Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School.

His clinical expertise is neurogenic bladder dysfunction and reconstructive surgery. His basic research has focused on tissue engineering, and his clinical research on urodynamics, advanced analytics, and telemedicine. Dr. Estrada’s research has been funded by the NIH since 2011. He has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed articles, numerous book chapters and reviews, and has given national and international lectures on clinical topics, management and innovation, and his research.

Dr. Estrada is a member of the American Telemedicine Association, Societies for Pediatric Urology, the American Urological Association, the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons. He is a permanent member of the NIH Biomaterials and Biointerfaces Study Section and serves on multiple executive committees at Boston Children’s Hospital.
