Anney Joseph,

Anney Joseph, OD, FAAO, is a tele-eye care provider with the TECS (Technology-based Eye Care Services) program at the VISN 7 Clinical Resource Hub, part of the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center since 2020. She is also an executive board member of the American Academy of Optometry’s nascent Ocular Telehealth SIG.

In 2022, Dr. Joseph co-authored chapters in the textbook, Ocular Telehealth A Practical Guide. She has published articles and posters for Review of Optometry, American Academy of Optometry, and American Optometric Association. In 2021, she was the lead on presenting the TECS model for NYU Langone Health’s Virtual Teleophthalmology Curriculum.

Before joining the Department of Veterans Affairs, Dr. Joseph was a staff optometrist at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. Prior to that, she was Clinical Assistant Professor at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA.

Dr. Joseph earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin and her doctorate in optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry. She completed her residency training in primary eye care and low vision at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lake City, FL.
