American Telemedicine Association Appoints New Chief Operating Officer
Healthcare Industry veteran Dr. Sabrina Smith fills Chief Operating Officer role at leading telehealth association
WASHINGTON, DC – January 2, 2017 – The American Telemedicine Associaton (ATA) has hired health care industry veteran Dr. Sabrina Smith as its Chief Operating Officer. Sabrina will oversee daily operations, staffing, strategic planning, and major revenue generating programs.

Dr. Smith has 20 years of cross-industry experience in healthcare, academic, and non-profit management settings. Most recently, Dr. Smith was Senior Vice President for Business Operations for the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS), a global membership organization of over 12,000 regulatory professionals working in the rapidly growing medical device, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. Past roles include: COO for the American Academy of Physician Assistants; COO of Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO); and Assistant Vice President of MedStar Research Institute, a subsidiary of MedStar Health.
