Making the Case for Non-Discriminatory Regulation and Reimbursement for Home Testing

The use of at-home medical testing services has rapidly expanded into consumer settings since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many patients and healthcare providers recognize the range of benefits home testing offers, including increased effectiveness of testing and subsequent intervention, reduced exposure of others to infectious diseases, and reduced burden of in-clinic activities. To help guide discussions related to regulation and reimbursement for these services, the American Telemedicine Association’s Home Testing Special Interest Group (SIG) has published the white paper, "Making the Case for Non-Discriminatory Regulation and Reimbursement for Home Testing."

plan covering 190k people, the UU Medical Group, numerous institutes and centers, and one of the
United States’ largest reference labs. With such a broad and deep reach, UUH trains most of Utah’s
clinicians – physicians, nurses, pharmacists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
