Chief Clinician Executive OSF OnCall and SVP Advanced Practice OSF HealthCare




Dr. Melinda Cooling serves as the Senior Vice President of Advanced Practice for OSF HealthCare and the Chief Clinician Executive for OSF OnCall. Melinda is a clinical leader with expertise in building clinical models of care including in person and digital care solutions. She is a family nurse practitioner and developed the vision for the Center for Advanced Practice within OSF HealthCare which included the conceptualization of an APP Fellowship model which has now achieved national accreditation. She has held faculty positions in undergraduate and graduate colleges of nursing. Dr Cooling has experience in research serving as a principal and co-investigator for studies related to rheumatoid arthritis, APP transition to practice, burnout, preceptor evaluation tools for post-graduate fellowship and digital health. She is currently the principal investigator for remote patient monitoring and hospital at home programs. Additionally, she is the project lead for the HSII program through Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) at OSF HealthCare. Dr Cooling is actively involved in multiple APP leadership groups across the country and speaks both nationally and internationally. She serves as a clinical leader on the ATA clinical council. In addition, she serves as a commissioner on accreditation for American Nurses Credentialing Center Transition to Practice programs.
