Kathy Deanda RN, MSN began her healthcare career as a Registered Nurse in the medical specialty of Oncology over 30 years ago in Newport News, Virginia. After relocating to Colorado in 1998, she took a brief detour to pursue her interest in computer science and participated in Y2K computer program revision efforts. In 2007, she returned to healthcare within the Health IT field and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in the Science of Nursing with a focus on Nursing Informatics.
In 2010, Mrs. Deanda began her career at the University of Colorado Hospital and is now acting as the Senior Director of Virtual Health and Neuro-Diagnostic within the University of Colorado Health (UCHealth) system. During that time, she has been fully immersed in the art of advancing healthcare with the integration of technology in both an operational and IT capacity. Her unique opportunity to be involved in both the technology side as well as the clinical delivery side of healthcare, offers a perspective that allows for more thoughtful and patient focused programs, especially in the Virtual Health (Telehealth) arena where she leads several teams in the advancement of Telehealth services for the UCHealth system as well as other communities across Colorado and in surrounding states.
Prior to coming to UCHealth, Mrs. Deanda was the Director of Informatics at Exempla Health (now SCLHS) St. Joseph Hospital in Denver where she led the operational aspects of a hospital-wide EMR implementation which was followed by another EMR implementation at Lutheran Medical Center in Lakewood, Colorado. During her early computer sciences career, Kathy was the manager of program development for a brokerage firm support company in Denver, Colorado.
