Rajesh Patel, MD, MPH, MA, completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Michigan in 2013 and served as Chief Resident in 2014. He then practiced Hospital and Addiction Medicine at Brigham and Women’s in Boston from 2014 to 2022. Currently, he is a Hospital Medicine physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

With a background in computer science and experience as a software engineer, Dr. Patel transitioned into clinical informatics in 2016. He rose to leadership roles at Brigham and Women’s, becoming Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) in 2021 and later Interim Chief Information Officer (CIO). He managed a large informatics team, oversaw the Epic EHR system, and led COVID-19 digital health initiatives.

In 2022, Dr. Patel joined Beth Israel Lahey Health as Deputy Chief Health Information Officer, focusing on innovation and digital health projects. He now serves as VP of Digital Patient Experience at Mass General Brigham, overseeing patient-facing software applications, including Virtual Care and patient portals.
