Overview

The American Telemedicine Association's 11th Annual Meeting and Exhibit Showcase was held May 7-10th 2006, in San Diego, California. The American Telemedicine Association's Annual Meeting is recognized around the world as the primary forum for the telemedicine industry.

Showcase

ATA 2006 had close to 150 exhibitors representing the who’s who of telemedicine products and services providers. Over 60% of the ATA 2007 expanded exhibit space was sold onsite at ATA 2006. View a current list of 2007 exhibitors go to the exhibits section of the website.

Program

The American Telemedicine Association hosts the world's largest scientific meeting and exposition focusing exclusively on telemedicine. If you are involved with telecommunications technology solutions for healthcare, the ATA Annual Meeting is the single-most important event of the year. ATA features presentations that address the full spectrum of research and development, theory and application, and methodology and evaluation in matters pertaining to telemedicine.

The scientific program contained over 350 peer-reviewed presentations, and close to 150 exhibitors showcased the latest developments in technology and services. It was apparent that recent slowdowns in e-health, health technology and related sectors have only marginally affected the continued evolution of telemedicine and the growth and stature of the ATA. ATA 2006 Proceedings are available online.

ATA 2006 was attended by over 2,000 people; over 60% indicated that they will purchase or advise others on purchasing telemedicine equipment and services over the next twelve months.

ATA members include health care professionals, clinicians, technology specialists and providers of telemedicine products and services from around the world.

ATA members represent both the public and private sectors – a virtual who’s who in the telemedicine industry with national and international leaders from the corporate, federal and academic world.
